Obituary

Richard L. "Rich" Chamberlain 66 of Marianna, died Tuesday October 14, 2014 in his home. He was born on February 16, 1948 in Wellsville, NY, a son of Alfred L. and Isma Mae Chamberlain. He worked as a logger in Potter County , and then as a truck driver for Atlas Services in Eighty Four for 17 years before his retirement in 1999. He also worked at the Marianna Lyceum and Marianna Legion Post 744 where he bartended. Rich proudly served in Vietnam with the United States Army where he received a Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Post 744 of Marianna, as well as of the Marianna Lyceum. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid gardener. He is survived by his longtime companion, Marilyn Marchines Lasko, her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. One brother David A. Chamberlain of Genesee, and two sisters Sally Marvin of Painted Post, NY and Patti Chamberlain Andrews of Coudersport, as well as several children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received in Nichol Funeral Home 1728 Main Street, Marianna on Thursday October 16, 2014 from 2-7p.m. the time of funeral service with Rev. Linda Mankey officiating. Interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgevillle. Full Military Rites will be accorded by Steele-Lillie American Legion Post 744 of Marianna.
