Richard Allen Kelley, 76, of Washington died Sunday July 1, 2018 in the Washington Hospital.
He was born September 6, 1941 to the late Alfred H. and Annie Mowl Kelley.
He attended Trinity Area School district. He served over 20 years active duty with the U.S. Marine Corp., serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He received Rifle Expert Badge, Pistol Expert Badge Expeditionary Medal-Good Conduct Medal w/4*-National Defense Service Medal-Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60-Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm-Vietnam Service Medal w 3*-Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation Civil Action Colors 1st Class w/Palm. He then served 10 years in U.S.M.C. Reserves.
Richard was a self-employed farmer and also was a truck driver for Hill International. He was a lifetime member of the Bethlehem-Lutheran Church. He belonged to the VFW in Washington and the American Legion Post #744 of Marianna, PA
Richard is survived by his wife Marie Lehew Kelley whom he married May 13, 1961. Two sons Rich (Christy) Kelley of Eighty Four, PA and Dennis (Patty) Kelley of Burgettstown, PA. Three Sisters; Joan Firley, Missouri, Freda (Al) Fortunato, Houston, PA and Barbara (Mike) Micjan Lone Pine, PA. Five grandchildren Tonya Fleisher of Virginia, Brittany Hall of South Carolina, Lauren Larese of Missouri, Chelsie Correll of Arizona and Dylan Kelley of PA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased in addition to his parents are two brothers William Kelley and George A. Kelley.
Family and friends will be received from 2 until 7 P.M. Thursday July 5, 2018 in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, PA where funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday July 6, 2018 with the reverend Linda Mankey officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
