Obituary

Robert Allen Conkle, born February 11, 1950, passed away April 4th at 11:18 A.M. with his family by his side.   Surviving is his wife Barb, whom he married April 27, 1974, children Jason (Rebecca), Gina (Kevin), and Justin (Jackie), grandchildren Joelie, Levi, Cooper, Emery, Oakley, and Reese.

Bob was a graduate of Bentworth High School class of 1968 and a member of the United States Army Reserves. He started his career at McGraw Edison and then at Equitable Gas now People's Gas from where he retired in 2016 after of working there for over 38 years.

Bob was a man of few words, but his heart was the size of Texas for his family, whatever was needed he was ALWAYS there without hesitation. His pride and joy were his six grandkids. He was extremely proud of each of them.

At 75 Bob was still actively competing with is horse Sweet Pea in barrel racing and pole bending.  He's won multiple saddles and buckles throughout his riding career.  His most recent BIG win was at the NPBAA finals this past September. Bob was the hardest working person you'd ever meet.  He was up every day before the sun came up and didn't quit until the sun went down.  He enjoyed working outside on their farm. In his spare time, he and Barb enjoyed going all over to see the grandkids at their events, traveling and hitting the casinos! His kids and grandkids were the ones who hit it big with a Dad and Pap like him.  He will be forever missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents Mack and Lois Conkle and his brother Ed. Also surviving are his siter-in-law Sue, brother Ken (Connie), sister barb, sister-in-law Deb (Bill) as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
