Robert M."Murf" Murphy 48 of Marianna died unexpectedly Tuesday April 25, 2023 in his home. He was born in Aliquippa on July 24, 1974. He was a 1993 Bethlehem Center High School graduate and then went on to Triangle Tech. He served in the United States Navy for 10 years and was a member of Steele-Lillie American Legion Post 744 of Marianna. Robert loved to watch football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and anything to do with nature. He enjoyed the sounds of the bubbling of the creek, the breeze, and the music of the frogs and crickets at night. He also enjoyed working on cars and small motors. He was very proud of the deck on his house that he designed and built with his children. Robert was a loving husband, father, son, and peepaw. On July 16, 2002 he married Tracy Lynn Douglas. Surviving in addition to his wife of over 20 years Tracy Murphy of Marianna are his mother Deborah Ann Tataseo, five children Jospeh and wife Heather Murphy, Jasmine Murphy, Cara Murphy, McKayla Murphy, Damien Murphy, a grandson Zakk, two brothers David Murphy and Chris Murphy, two sisters Christina Worden and Michelle Murphy, a special uncle David Perry, as well as many other aunts and uncles. Deceased in addition to his father Robert Keith Murphy are maternal grandparents Annetta and Mitchell Perry and paternal grandparents Robert Lafollet and Lois Murphy. Family and friends will be received Wednesday May 3, 2023 from 10:30-12:30 in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East maiden Street Washington PA 15301 where funeral services will be held at 12:30p.m. with Pastor Joann Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military rites being accorded by American Legion Post 744 of Marianna.
