Ruth Marie Dague Dykstra 96 of Marianna passed away Thursday October 20, 2022.  She was born August 10, 1926 in Eighty Four, daughter of the late Rev. Glenn and Olive Stepp Dague..  She was a 1944 graduate of East Washington High School where she met the love of her life and future husband Lou.  They were married in 1946 and moved to Marianna in the early 1950's.  They shared 66 years of marriage before Louis' passing on February 8, 2013. She is survived by sons Jeff and wife Molly Dykstra of Malden, Kent and wife Marsha Dykstra of Somerset, 5 grandchildren, Joren (Kelly), Brandt, Meredith, Kelsey (Cole), and Chase (Maggie), as well as 4 great grandchildren Isla, Lydia, Taran and Ezra.  In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Edward and Richard Dague, as well as a sister June Findling.

Ruth was a homemaker and an excellent cook who delighted in sharing her special cinnamon rolls with family and friends  She was a prayerful encourager to others and enjoyed a wide circle of enduring friendships throughout her life.  Ruth was the pianist and choir director at the Zollarsville/ Marianna Methodist Church for many years.  She loved to play the piano and was always grateful that her Father purchased an upright for her at an early age.  Her musical gift and beautiful soprano voice brought joy to many.
