Samuel “ Sammy” Dale Valperga, 70 of Washiongton died Saturday July 11, 2026 in the Washington Hospital, UPMC Washington. He was the son of the late Simon “Sam” Valperga and Dorothy Valperga Anthony, born on December 18, 1955 in Washington. He was a graduate of Trinity High School and went on to the Dean Institute of Technology. He worked for McGraw Edison and later owned and operated Val’s Landscaping. Sammy served in the United States Army. Sam was preceded in death by his amazing son Samuel “Scotty”Valperga. He was the loving Father to his daughter Crystal Valperga and the very proud Grandpap to Travon, Christopher, Aaliyah, Makayla Valperga, and the great grandpap to Acelyn Valperga, previous husband to Sherry (Mark) Conte whom he remained friends with throughout the years, two brothers Jeff (Karen), and Darryl Valperga, three sisters Linda Sue Blackburn, Judith (Tom) Punian, Toni (Barry) Hewitt, as well as several nieces and nephews. Sam loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Sammy also loved the ocean and any body of water that he could enjoy with family and friends. Sammy was a character that loved a good laugh. He leaves behind many that will truly miss him and continue to love him. A Celebration of life service will be held on August 6, 2026 at 12:00P.M. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington. Inurnment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies where full military rites will be accorded
