Walter R. Bird Sr., 79 of Washington went to be with the Lord and the Love of his Life, Dora C. Bird on Wednesday August 28, 2013 He was born on January 29, 1934 in Amwell Township, a son of the late John D. and Laura Bedillion Bird. He attended Trinity High School. Mr. Bird worked as a truck driver for R.G. Johnson Co., Songer Corp., RTL Trucking, and Ross Mould. He was a longtime member of Laboratory Presbyterian Church. He was a member of UMWA, enjoyed flowers and mowing grass, loved his grandchildren. Om July 14, 1951 he eloped to Winchester, VA to marry Dora C. Bird who passed in February 2000. He is survived by two sons Walter R. Bird Jr. (Debbie), Donald L. Bird (Lynn),a daughter Trisha D. Ramsey (George), sister Patty Lou Robertson (Bob), brother Jobe Bird (Shirley), six grandchildren Jennifer, Megan, Ashlee, Julie Bird, Katie Lawson and Chelsea Steve, three great grandchildren Cadyn Porter, Lexi and Macie Ringer, as well as many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are a granddaughter Jessica Bird Ringer, sister Mary Bird, brother Ronald Bird, and also a brother in infancy. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 1-4 and 6-9p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington, where a memorial service will be held at a later date.
