Willard G."Duke" Curry 75 of lone Pine died Tuesday November 15 2011 in his home. He was born in Amwell Township on September 6, 1936 a son of the late Abe B. and Violet Gamble Curry. He was a 1954 graduate of Trinity High School where he played baseball and football. He then went on to serve in the United States Army. Mr. Curry worked as a receiver for McGraw Edison until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Lone Pine Christian Church where he previously served as a deacon and sang in the choir for many years. Mr. Curry was a member of Claysville American legion, former member of the Annawanna club and Independent club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball for Lone Pine for more than 30 years and was an avid Steelers fan. On August 5, 1960 he married Shirley L. Williams Curry who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years are a son Willard D. Curry of Lone Pine, daughter Lori (Bill) Courson of Lone Pine, brother Vaughn B. (JoAnne) Curry of Virginia Beach, VA, special friend who was like a son Danny Greene, dog Ginnie, and cat Snoop, as wel l as several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East Maiden Street Washington where funeral services will be held on Friday November 18, 2011 at 11:00a.m. with Pastor Josh Sonoga officiating.
