William E. Reese 82 of Washington died Wednesday March 20, 2013 in Cranberry Place, Cranberry. He was born in Cambria County, on June 10, 1930 a son of the late Stanley G. and Caroline Servis Reese. He was a 1956 graduate of Penn State University. He served in the United States Army in Korea with the 31st infantry 3rd battalion and was a 45 year member of American legion Post 175 of Washington. He worked for the Observer Reporter as a reporter and outdoor editor for 36 years from 1956 until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of First Christian Church of Marianna where he served as deacon, was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, taught hunter safety education for 35 years and was a member of the Arms club of Washington. On August 25, 1979 he married Linda Frederick with whom he has shared over 33 years of marriage. Surviving in addition to his wife Linda Frederick Reese are two daughters Diane Reese of Harrisburg, Beth Burgard of Harrisburg, Matthew (Danielle) Reese of West Finley, a brother Robert Reese of Holidaysburg, two sisters Jean (Louis) Bartoletti of Ebensburg, Eleanor Benko of Ebensburg, five grandchildren Richard (Jennifer) Liddick, Tim (Nichole) Liddick, Wyatt Burgard, Marlee Reese, Ainsley Reese, 2 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 2-8p.m. and Sunday from 2-4p.m. in the Nichol Funeral Home 1873 East maiden Street Washington where funeral services will be held on Sunday March 24, 2013 at 4:00p.m. with Pastor Betty Riecks and Pastor Michael Lehman officiating. A military service will be held on Saturday March 23 at 6:00p.m. by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of Washington.
